I believe in a holistic approach to clients’ finances, helping create the right balance. For over 20 years, I’ve enjoyed getting to know my clients and helping them make sense of their goals and objectives. And, as life changes, so does our journey together.
My passion to help people protect their finances is what drove me to become a financial advisor! From an early age I sought opportunities to help others, through volunteering and work. My interest in finances took me on a journey working in banking, life insurance, health and out-of-country medical coverage, and to being a financial advisor.
I take pride in keeping my practice up to date in an ever-changing industry, including learning what government programs, employee benefit programs, pension benefits and other new opportunities are available. I began volunteering with Advocis (The Financial Advisors Association of Canada) early in my career and am currently the Bay of Quinte Chapter president. Membership in the Canadian Institute of Certified Executive Advisors helps keep me up to date on issues concerning executors of wills and estates.
Being actively involved in the financial and business community is important to me. Through my role as a member of the Manulife Bank Advisory Council, I help close gaps between the company’s offerings and clients’ needs. As a director of the Belleville Chamber of Commerce, I stay current with important community and political issues, and can help refer clients to other professionals in the community.
During my personal time, I enjoy reading and making crafts such greeting cards, scrapbooks, and wood projects. I love spending time with our grandchildren. My husband, Norm, and I also like to travel and walk on beaches we discover. And whenever possible, I volunteer, do charity work, and help with local schools.
I am fortunate that my team is also part of my family.
Norm started working with me when he retired in 2008 from a management position in the auto manufacturing industry. His years in management and his terrific attention to detail bring a lot to the team. Norm oversees the day-to-day aspects of my practice. Over the years he has formed great relationships with our clients and helps provide many of the services we offer.
Shannon is our daughter. She recently joined our team, pivoting her career after 14 years in the hotel industry and having also trained early on as a forensic biotechnologist. Shannon is a whiz at organising our administrative details and helps serve our clients. She is wonderful with clients, working with honesty and integrity in a warm and friend manner.
